Larger variations >10 are probably predictable also in certain individuals. For instance, I tend to jump on the real thing. In all of med school I’ve always scored higher on real exams than on practices, preclinical, shelf and steps- literally every single one.No, 70% is a decently safe pass, 60% is cutting it close. Besides doing as many UWorld questions as possible I also recommend first aid. If your issue is content gaps, first aid and anking are great. If your issue is test taking, do Uworld. Also, Pathoma chapters 1-3 are crucial. Technically, low 60s is the passing score. IMO amboss is a harder q bank than UW so an 80% average on it is very good. I would expect you to do well on step 1 but since amboss step 1 qbank is quite new idk how it correlates with a step 1 score. Do an NBME or UW qbank to better see where you are at.
