Other refuse like vermin remains and rotten food gets dumped into a volcano. Non-dwarf, non-pet corpses go into the magma pits. non-usable refuse, also goes into the magma pits. Miasma hardly makes an appearance on my map outside of the butcher/fishery; and I have those sealed with doors so it doesn't escape.

Yeah, if one dwarf can carry a bronze colossus corpse through a single tile doorway, and a fisherdwarf haul an actual blue whale, then I don't really think QSP are a true exploit. Space is kind of a soupy idea in the DF world.

Im pretty new to DF, but havin a great time, on my first fort now with about 40 dorfs. my food production has suddenly far outmatched my dwarves hunger, and ive ended up with a butcher shop full of miasma and rotten pig, and withered crops.
