The VHF is still alive and is linked to the CLMRN Trumbull dispatch channel. They do have VRS in some units that have the capability to do analog or digital FG to the CLMRN but it looks to be in the testing phase still.

There is no way to be sure of where beyond a local site where you may hear something. You can hear stuff on a site for a high percentage of the time but if there is no one affiliated to that TG at the site you are monitoring, if is likely it will not be heard.
