Is a T2 harvester required for tier 2 drill dirt clumps? Yes. It's all about depth. So the drill doesn't matter as much as how deep you dig. The only exception being icehelm which has the better dirt the farther in that you dig. So if you wanted to, you could drill T1 dirt using T2 drills and still use a T1 harvester.

The model of the t2 harvester seems to have a tiny gap in the middle and it seems to influence the dirt chunks when falling in it may fall through the grinding part and land on the funnel looking bottom.
