The problem is that after I converted to the 12V system, I’ve had hell getting this thing to start. I have a single key ignition system and no safety switches but for some reason, my relay/non ... Subject: Re: 4020 John Deere info wanted. The early 4020 diesels came out of the factory with a goofy 24 volt positive ground system. It can be hard for the average person to work on. Some have been converted to 12 volt negative ground that is a lot simpler and easier to diagnose electrical problems on.
