I have poured water on the vehicle and "hosed" it down but cannot figure out where the leak is coming from. It seems to only leak in the rain. The vent is held in by small spring clips attached to the vent unit. To remove it I used a small square ended filler knife under the bottom of the vent and levered it out until I could get hold of the edge and remove it with my fingers. The same heater core supplies heat to both the driver and passenger sides, so if you're sure you have decent heat on one side and not the other, then nothing 'system-wide' would be the issue -- it would likely be a failure of the 'blend motor' for the passenger side.
