May 27, 2015 · But I want to raise the cutting deck height. Over the years my understanding is that the front of the deck should be slightly lower than the rear. Supposedly that gives a better cut, with the deck slightly angled into the grass. The gauge wheels are set in the 3" position, the rear lift rods are set in the 2.75" position.

Also try adjusting your height knob to TOP after putting deck all the way down, see if that helps, the adjustment knob pawls (notches) could be worn to not catch the knob. Look under there with someone raising and lowering it s-l-o-w-l-y. You may have to remove the mower deck to get a better view.

Sep 13, 2019 · If your mower deck isnt at the right height, check the hook on the part shown above. If the bolts are positioned vertically, the hook should be parallel to the frame of your BX. CHECK THAT FIRST. With the new part installed at the 4in setting the blades are now at 4 inches (despite kubota repetedly trying to tell me "the numbers dont mean inches").

Then lower the TPH and see if the mower will drop. Could be that the knob has came loose or gotten out of kilter with the stop and it is really in the top position, holding the deck up.
