All the other top AR manufacturers use 7075-T6 alloy for their upper and lower receivers, including DD, Bravo Company, LMT, Larue, Colt, Noveske, etc, etc.Currently have a couple MCXs. A virtus in 6.75 and a 9 spear LT. The rattler upper receiver has a slightly shorter rail than the virtus/spear and I wanted all the parts to be comparable. 6.75 is - but quieter but with more gas to the face. As far as I know, all the piston uppers, e.g. my Sig 516, require a standard recoil assembly in the lower, just like a DI upper.
