Used some 1" rings I had and mounted a MAGLIGHT XL50 I've had for years. It is mounted on the front right side so my right thumb can switch it on or select modes. Harris makes an adapter that allows a sling swivel stud to be mounted to/through one of the ventilation holes on a GI-style AR handguard, but Ruger has made so many little "tweaks" to their AR (re)design, I'm not positive that the adapter will work on the Ruger handguard.
