If you are going to run a 460 to 7 / 8K with iron cj heads you had better have good H beam rods, good forged pistons and four bolt mains or at a minimum a girdle. In addition your valve train will have to be rock solid and stable...Absolutely !!! There is no need to go any bigger than 2.2" / 1.8" in a nox application. 2.19" / 1.75" or 1.76" is pretty typical. I utilise the 2.25" intakes when doing larger engines as there are some low lift flow advantages however given the bowl sizing constraints of a dove intake port I can not make the bowl large enough to take full advantage of the 2.25" intake for mid to higher lift flow.Paul Kane. D3's are really close-port wise-to the D0VE's but obviously the D3's have bolt-down rockers and bigger chambers. The E7's have TINY ports and-well-the only intake that fits them is the EFI intake (fuelie's). Would there be any improvement by just opening the seats up and installing 2.19 intake and 1.76 exhaust valves in a set of DOVE heads or would just installing the larger valves hurt performance. These heads now are stock and have stock 2.08/1.65 valves with the exhaust bump removed.
