Jan 19, 2010 · I wonder why someone hasnt thrown a 145hp Harley Davidson style V-twin in a RZR. Since the tranny is a seperate unit it can be left off and the primary CVT clutch can be mounted directly to the crankshaft of the V-twin. Any V-4 engines set up like a Harley? Seems like this would be much cheaper than the Weber or R1 conversions. It's mik 42 and I figured out the problem had to swap out the ignition with my original. Fixed that problem. Runs like a top. But it smokes like a freight train on start up smells like a gas and oil mixture. Doesn't smoke as much after running a bit. Gonna change the oil again now that the shake down is over . I may need to tune the carburetor ...3. Swap plugs on the stator and transmission. From 96 to 88. I cut them off used crimps and shrink tubing. 4.Get a 06-12 transmission bracket. The 88 bracket won't clear the transmission cover. 5. Get an oil tank vent tube from a 06-12. The 88 tube won't clear the 6 speed trans cover.The bike is a 2006 FLHT base model Electra Glide. With the added size of the engine and the weight of your trike kit and passenger the bigger engine will run hotter. I use Amsoil 60wt synthetic in my engine to help keep the temps lower.
