Apr 17, 2012 · This was the case when my 06 V6 At starting doing the blinky blinky in (D)drive and it turned out being the 3rd or 4th gear pressure switch. This was *after* the transmission prematurely broke at ~90k and was replaced with a "new" one. Turns out the installer used the old pressure switches to save money on a "new" transmission.
I got the flashing D while on a road trip in North Dakota. I stopped by a local AutoZone and they were able to pull the code (P1740) for me and it was for a failed 4th gear switch. Not sure why your OBD reader is not picking it up. A Honda dealer in Rushmore South Dakota replaced it for me for about $160.
