I normally fly AirTran out of MKE, but AirTran is not flying to Vegas anymore. :( The total airfare for the wife and I with Spirit is $315 RT, while with Southwest it is $732 RT. The main downside to flying Spirit is I would have to fly out of ORD instead of MKE. At least it is a non-stop flight! Now, my question is in regards to the baggage fees.Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. Flight delayed two hours ( 1 hour longer than original delay announcement), and they would not allow us to check our bags using the kiosk because we were less than an hour before original departure time, even though we were 2 hours early. Jan 5, 2018 · Trip to Las Vegas. Considering this is a "no frills" airline we found the flight and seating was comfortable. You do have to pay for seating if you want to be together and also luggage and hand luggage too. The luggage weight allowed is 40lbs which we weren't aware of so had to pay an extra $30!!! The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant.

I would probably fly spirit if I am going alone and the price is atleast 300 bucks cheaper, but then I am only 5'10 and can squeeze into the "high chairs" masquerading as seats.

Reviewed September 26, 2016. Nickel and Dime. Very poor customer service. Extra charges for printing a boarding pass, picking a seat, bringing a carry on bag, and a drink of water on the plane. After all the extra charges, costs more than the next tier of airlines. Avoid the hassle and the aggravation.
