Manual Shifting Problem: I have a 2018 Acadia Denali with the 3.6 engine. The manual shifter (+/-) is not changing gears sometimes. It has worked fine until about 6 weeks ago. The speed has no bearing on when it works or doesn't work. I know the procedure of how it activates when going into “L” selection at different speeds.I won't swear there is an actual solution. My '18 failed at around 18k miles. Per GM, dealer replaced a portion of the wiring harness. That fix only lasted about a month. Dealer then replaced the shifter assembly. That was about 8k miles ago. So far, so good. Some have reported repeat failures. Seems there is a micro switch that fails.Put the vehicle in the park position, with the ignition off.
