Trane xv80 red light flashing.
I have a Trane XR80. The red light flashes 4 times. I have cleaned and checked everything I can think of. The limit switch trips after about 10 minutes of heat. I jumped the switch to make sure, and the unit will run fine. I know that this is not the fix, but I wanted to make it was isolated to the limit switch.

Trane XL80 goes into Lockout. The front panel that I removed only covers the components of the furnace. It doesn't change air flow of the exchanger. It simply covers the various electrical components ( limit switch, electronic control module, and gas lines and valve). I disconnected one of the supply lines and replaced the cover.
