EFI Connection versus TorqHead 24x Systems A little background: I originally purchased my EFI Connection 24x kit, complete, from a friend. The kit was one of the first generations with the double row 24x reluctor wheel and crank trigger sensor, which was originally for a 7.0L vortec engine (which will be referred to as the “gold sensor” from now on).I'm really hoping the way I've tapped the factory bolts won't leak oil! I guess I should also point out for anyone interested, if you try to drill and tap the factory bolts, the original head with pop off. Looks like it was just pressed in there. Forget the Opti Spark, contact Paul at TorqHead,com they have a complete 24X system that will plug and play the LT1 with a coil over plug system that does away with Opti Spark. The black 24x crank sensors are 12V (LS1 gen3) and the light colored 58x crank sensors are 5V (LS3 gen4). You can get a black front mount cam sensor and use it with a 12V LS1 harness.
